Harold G. Chamberlain IV is a writer and analyst focused on issues of security, development, aid, sustainability, and politics in East Africa.
An eight-year veteran of the United States Army, he has served as both an enlisted soldier and commissioned officer. Trained as a Psychological Operations Specialist and Infantry Officer, he has deployed to Iraq twice, where he worked closely with local, provincial, and national security forces and government officials to promote stability and growth in his areas of operation.
He learned Arabic at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA, and is currently teaching himself Swahili and Nandi.
He earned his Bachelor’s of Art Degree in Social Foundations and Culture Studies from Geneva College in 2003.
He currently lives and works in Savannah, GA with his loving wife, Chelimo, and their son, Kiprono.
